We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available. Some of them include:

  • Supportive counseling for victims of domestic violence and other crises residing in our shelter
  • Hotline coverage
  • Advocacy and accompaniment
  • Children’s group activities
  • Co-facilitating adult support groups for domestic and/or sexual violence
  • Clerical, technical, or maintenance assistance
  • Classroom and community facilitators
  • Board of directors
  • Fundraising

If you would like to become a volunteer with Women’s Services, please fill out this form and our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to discuss available volunteer opportunities.

Volunteers who work directly with service recipients are required to complete 60 hours of training sponsored by Women’s Services, Inc.  The training is designed to familiarize the new counselor/advocate with a background in domestic and sexual violence.  Training sessions typically run eight weeks with classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings along with one Monday and Wednesday evening.

If you have any questions about volunteering at Women’s Services, you can contact one of our Volunteer Coordinators, Kaitlyn Bonilla-Davis, or Hugo Litwiler at 814-724-4637 x219.
